Kevin Coleman to retire as Laytown Races Secretary Manager
The Laytown Races committee have announced that Kevin Coleman, Secretary / Manager at Laytown Races for the last 25 years, will retire at the end of the year. This year’s race meeting on Thursday September 8 will be the last under his management.
Kevin Coleman said: “It has been an absolute privilege and honour to serve as Secretary Manager at Laytown Races for the last 25 years. I grew up and lived in Laytown for 30 years, so the village and the race meeting are very close to my heart. During my time at Laytown Races, I’ve met some lovely people and made some lifetime acquaintances. It was a pleasure to serve under two chairmen, Niall Delany and Joe Collins and work together to improve the facilities and race day experience for all our patrons. I’m looking forward to going racing to Laytown in a much more relaxed manner.”
Laytown Races Chairperson, Joe Collins, commented: On behalf of the Laytown Races Committee, I would like to sincerely thank Kevin for his incredible 25 years’ service and commitment to Laytown Races. During his time, Kevin has played a pivotal role in the success of our unique beach race meeting, and we wish him and his family all the best.
Laytown Races will commence the recruitment process for a new Secretary / Manager in due course.
