Local beauty blogger, Dawn Finnegan of popular Dawn L.A. Blog will judge the competition and she explained what she will be looking for. “I’m so excited to be judging the Scotch Hall Shopping Centre best dressed competition this year at the Laytown Races. I won best dressed lady myself there in 2014 and it always brings back such amazing memories each time I come to Laytown. Ladies Day is always such an exciting event and I can’t wait to see the style on the day. For me, best dressed lady is all about how a girl puts her own personal touch to her style. I’m a big fan of high street fashion so I don’t necessarily look for designer labels when it comes to choosing best dressed. A pop of colour or something that catches the eye is always a good bet. It’s also nice if there’s a story behind the outfit. Most importantly, if you’re comfortable and confident in your outfit then you’re already a best dressed lady in my eyes. Looking forward to seeing you all on September 11th.”

Peter Dolan, Manager of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre in Drogheda, Co. Louth, commented: “We’re delighted to partner with the Laytown Races once again for the best dressed competition. It’s always a great day out with a fantastic atmosphere. With over 50 shops and restaurants and a new cinema opening before Christmas, the lucky winner and runners up will have plenty of wonderful options when they come to use their vouchers in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre.”

Those who would like to enter the competition are advised to arrive early and make sure they are spotted by Dawn, who will be walking around the busy race field before and in between races.

Five finalists will be taken into the parade ring where the winner, second and third place will be announced.
